We frequently feel four seasons in one day, so you may as well throw in a rain jacket too for good measure.

Polo is officially over for the season – time for the clever ones to head up to the northern hemisphere season and everyone else to pretend winter is not about to happen! If you are a school team or interested in joining schools polo you get another go at it for 2010 so never fear! The polo season kicks off again October-ish 2010 for you. If you do want to have a go at polo email me and go for it!!!

The next polo world cup will be held in Argentina 2011. From the Federation of International Polo website: “The Asociación Argentina de Polo (AAP) made its successful bid for the FIP’s flagship 14-goal World Championship during a Special General Assembly of the federation in Wellington, Florida (April 19). The assembly also confirmed venues for next year’s qualifying tournaments.”

The South Island Women’s Polo Team is heading to Australia! The fabulous Town and Country Polo Club has invited our women’s team over to their digs after we hosted them last year. Hurrah – now the ladies need to fundraise to help get them over the Tasman.

When? 22, 23 and 24 October 2010

Why? Town and Country Polo Club is extending a reciprocal invite

How? It costs a bit to head over to Aussie with all your polo kit… thankfully, Town and Country Polo Club will look after supplying the polo ponies. We just have to get the ladies and their gear over there!

SOOO, IT’S FUNDRAISING TIME!

The brilliant Maddy Rankin has organised a smashing do for you to attend and show you’re support for the team. The brilliant Bangalore Polo Club (BPC) will host a cocktail party and fashion show fundraising for the team. We are currently confirming a date for the second half of August. Spaces are LIMITED to 100 so first in first served. We will present the team with their blazers and uniforms. There will be a best dressed man and woman, with prizes for both.
